What Elsa Can Teach Dads About Their Fitness

As a dad with two young daughters, my nights normally involve me reading 5-6 princess stories.

Elsa, Rapunzel, Tiana.  You name it, I've read it 20 times in the past week.

And honestly, recetly it started feeling like a grind.

Reading the same stories over and over again.  All princesses.  It's not exactly the most riveting thing for a 37 year old man to do.

 Then I had a revelation:

 Enthusiasm can fix almost anything.

It wasn’t the stories that were the problem; it was my attitude.

I decided to mix it up.

I put on different voices, added some energy, and suddenly, storytime was fun again—for me and my girls.

Here’s how this relates to your fitness routine:

  1.  Workouts Can Get Repetitive: Just like reading the same book night after night, hitting the gym can feel like a drag if you let it.

  2.  Change Your Approach: Bring some energy into your workouts. Try a new routine, update your playlist, or set some fun, small goals.

  3. Consistency Through Enthusiasm: Being enthusiastic isn’t just about having fun; it’s about building habits that last. Your big fitness goals won’t be achieved with a few workouts; it takes hundreds. The more you enjoy it, the more likely you are to stick with it.

  4. Mindset is Everything: Walking into the gym with a crappy attitude isn’t doing you any favors. Treat each session like something you’re genuinely excited about, and you’ll get more out of it.

So next time you’re dreading a workout, remember: enthusiasm can fix almost anything.

Keep your spirits up and let’s make those sessions count.
